Parting Ways

I had to separate my 2 guinea pigs the other day. Neo is a very special case when it comes to Guinea pigs, one day I will tell how I came about him as well. He is actually, I guess what you would call a miniature guinea pig. He is no bigger than my hand and he wont get any bigger. Well, I felt he was getting lonely, so back in May, I brought him home a playmate whom I named Tank. Mainly because I knew once he was full size, he would look like a tank next to Neo hehee.
Well they got along great, no fights, they ate together, slept together, Tank was always purring at Neo...I was happy that they were getting along so well. But as Tank grew and he got bigger than Neo (even though he's only 14 weeks old he's twice Neo's size) he has decided he didnt want Neo to eat any of the good stuff I gave them, he would chase him off from the food until he ate what he wanted, then let Neo go eat. I even tried putting the food in different places in the cage thinking he couldnt cover all of his bases, but he just chased Neo into their igloo house and made him stay there until he was done.
Well Neo being so small, he had lost some weight from this, and he cant afford to do that, and being as he's so special to me, I had to separate them. Neo is very special and important to me and his health and well being come first. So I will be giving up Tank. I dont have another big enough cage or the room for another big cage to keep him.
I will miss him because since I separated him he has become snuggly and sweet again, but it is in his best interest and I have to do what is best for him and for Neo.
Here is a picture of Tank after his first bath.
