Slithery Rescue & Kitten Pics

Well yesterday, I looked out the window and the kittens were acting funny. So I stepped outside to see what they were up to. And they were both standing over a snake only about 12 inches long. I thought it was a baby and so I shooed them away from it and got a container that I had out there and put next to him. Not sure why, maybe he somehow knew I was trying to help him but he slithered right into the container. I knew he wasnt poisonous by looking at his head (and watching Billy the Exterminator hehee) but I was curious as to what he was and his markings were neat, so I brought him in and took a few pictures of him.

After doing some searching on Google, I found that he is just a commeon brown snake. Such a bland name for a neatly marked little guy. And come to find out as well, this little 1 foot snake is not a baby after all, but a full grown adult. So after the photo shoot and finding out a little more about him, I took him to the back of my back yard away from the kittens and released him.

Here is a picture of the snake.

And here are a few new pics that I took of the kittens just a few minutes ago :)
And Flotsam (bl/wh one) still needs a good home. I am still the only one that can pet her, but it took less than a week and some tuna before she warmed up to me, so I know it wont take any time for her to warm up to someone else.
Her morning routine is...when I go out there to give them food, she won't eat until I sit down in the rocking chair and snuggle and pet her for anywhere from 10-20 minutes. When she has had enough, she jumps down and goes to eat. Crazy little kitty.

And little Hissy Britches that he is now called hehee. He still won't let me touch him. But he does come to the porch when I come outside if he is around. And he doesnt hiss at me as much. I think if I found Flotsam a new home to where I could spend more time with just him, he would warm up eventually too.

I have set up Boomer's old dog house with a big plushy comforter in it and every night they are snuggled up together in it. Its so cute to see 2 small kittens in a giant dog house hehee
