Tonight was a break through I believe. For the first time since I have been caring for the kittens and momma, the kittens came when I called them. Flotsam came from one direction, got half way through my yard and Boomer went crazy in the window and scared him off. I was so mad, I came in and locked him up so he couldnt get in the window.
While I was trying to call Flotsam back, I heard a "mewww" and looked over to see Jetsam sitting there as if he was saying "hello Im right here". It was so cute, solid black kitty with little pink mouth mewwing at me. He came over and ate a few bites and then momma came, she has weened the babies and wants nothing to do with them at all, so she hisses if they are around. I was sitting on the porch in my chair and she walked right over to the bottom step and sat there just looking up at me. You could see it in her face that she wanted some lovin but was afraid to get it still. So I snapped this picture below.

Flotsam didnt want to come closer, but Jetsam came around to the side of the steps and stepped up and Im thinking that he is going to come to the bowl... well I was wrong...hehee He saw the tip of my toe on my flip flop and thought it was a piece of tuna and so suddenly I feel little teeth chomp down on my toe...not hard mind you, but it made me laugh out loud and I scared the poor dear. But they came back and ate the rest of the tuna, then got out in the grass and started play fighting and chasing bugs. It was the cutest site.
Little Flotsam is still more skiddish than the other 2, but Im working on him. I want to be able to catch them and socialize them and find them homes before they get hit by a car or the hawk gets them. He has been hanging around a lot more lately. Its just a matter of time, I will miss them but I would rather see them in a good home where I will never see them again than to find them dead on the road.
